Applewild School Dining Hall

Bennett Building Corp. was retained by Applewild School two full years prior to the construction phase of this new 8,500 square-foot dining hall to provide pre-construction services and assist their project team in the overall evaluation, costing, and constructability of multiple building concepts. The collaborative team approach to project delivery consisting of key school personnel, architects, owners’ representatives, and contractors produced a highly successful design, capital campaign, and construction phase. Through detailed planning with the team, Bennett Building successfully implemented the construction of this project within a very busy, fully functioning, central portion of the campus without any disruption to the school program or campus activities. Applewild, a private K through 9 school, utilized the construction on campus to create a school year curriculum, integrating ongoing construction activities into teachable lessons. One such topic was the benefits associated with the PV Solar Array System, which was installed on the building’s roof.
